Shrinkable tube, one of the electrical components, shrinks about 50% of its natural form when heated. ‘Tubing series’ is an object and vase made of shrinkable tube. The unique feature of the Tubing series is the matte texture and color of the shrinkable tube. We look forward to seeing the texture of electric wires that can be seen everywhere around us as objects in our daily space.

현대 사회에서 산업적인 요소는 삶 속으로 깊숙이 녹아들었다. 도시 곳곳을 가로지르는 전선들, 휴대폰 속 정밀한 회로 부품들, 자동차 바퀴의 베어링…… 산업 사회 속의 크고 작은 부품들은 우리의 시야 밖에서 불철주야 움직이며 수많은 일을 해내고 있다. 오복기공사는 우리를 둘러싼 부품들의 세계를 탐험한다. 오로지 작동하기 위해 태어난 산업적 요소들을 수집하고 새로운 조형적 시각으로 재구성한다. 부품들이 본래의 뚜렷한 목적에서 벗어나 예상치 못한 조합과 방식으로 우리 눈앞에 나타난다면 반갑기도 낯설기도 할 것이다.
